Our History
From Artisanal Roots to Modern Packaging Expertise
The history of today’s gomber.plc began in the late 18th century with the founding of a carpentry shop that operated its own sawmill. Starting in 1955, wooden packaging was initially added as a secondary business and evolved over the decades into the core business.
Key milestones include the transition to Peter Gomber GmbH in 1974, the establishment of the Wirges facility starting in 1998, and the continuous expansion of production and warehouse space.
The merger with PLC Westerwald GmbH & Co. KG in 2025 ultimately marked the decisive step. Today, gomber.plc is a forward-looking company with approximately 85 employees at two locations.
We make packaging, but really, we build trust.
